The 23rd Colloquium of African Geology will be hosted by the University of Johannesburg, which founded in 2005 through the merger of the former Rand Afrikaans University (incorporating the Soweto and East Rand Vista campuses) and the former Technikon Witwatersrand.

The CAG23 opening ceremony will take place at Soweto Campus, one of the five campuses of the University of Johannesburg.

The scientific sessions, short courses, workshops and exhibitions will take place on the Auckland Park-Kingsway Campus. This campus is equipped with a several computer labs and lecture halls providing more than 7000 seats.
